Frequently Asked Questions

For those states that received PDMP funding to participate in PMP interstate data exchange, can they repurpose the interstate data sharing portion of their enhancement grant award if they adopt a data sharing solution that is not the PMIX hub server?

At this time, states may not repurpose their enhancement grant funding should they choose to adopt a data sharing solution that is not the PMIX Hub server. Under the terms of their competitive award, particular states were given priority consideration due to their commitment to share data via PMIX. At this time, the PMIX Hub server is the only existing hub solution that has been verified to support all of the specifications and guidelines of the PMIX working group. States that accepted enhancement grant funding for the purpose of interstate data sharing remain obligated to this specific deliverable. In the future, grantees will be required to ensure compliance of their PDMP system with the PMIX Architecture, which may permit the adoption of alternative interstate exchange solutions that meet all interoperability requirements of PMIX.
