Justice Information Sharing Pre-RFP Toolkit Released

With support from BJA, the IJIS Institute has released the Justice Information Sharing Pre-Request For Proposals Toolkit. The third edition of this procurement resource provides state and local governments a resource to streamline acquisition of information technology systems.


Face Recognition Policy Development Template for State, Local, and Tribal Criminal Intelligence and Investigative Activities

This resource was developed by state, local, and federal law enforcement, privacy, and criminal justice partners to provide law enforcement, fusion centers, and other public safety agencies with a framework for developing face recognition policies that comply with applicable laws, reduce privacy risks, implement minimum required training for authorized users and examiners, and establish entity accountability and oversight.

BJA has released the FY 2018 Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative funding opportunity. This program supports the Global Advisory Committee's work to provide recommendations to the Attorney General for innovative strategies to improve the information sharing and technology capabilities of state, local and tribal agencies. Apply by: July 25, 2018.


Justice Information Sharing Training and Technical Assistance (JIS TTA) Program

BJA has released the FY 2018 Justice Information Sharing Training and Technical Assistance (JIS TTA) Program solicitation. This program supports the efforts of state, local, territorial, and tribal criminal justice agencies to adopt effective justice information sharing solutions through the provision of TTA services. Apply by June 11, 2018.


Funding Available for Information Sharing and Suspicious Activity Reporting Technical Assistance Program

BJA has released the State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Information Sharing and Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative Technical Assistance Program FY 2017 Competitive Grant Announcement. Through this program, BJA is seeking applications to support the standardization of information sharing practices; the identification and sharing of state, local, tribal, and territorial information sharing exchange best practices and lessons learned; and the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative. Apply by: August 17, 2017.


Technology Innovation for Public Safety Solicitation Available

BJA has released the FY 2017 Technology Innovation for Public Safety (TIPS): Addressing Precipitous Increases in Crime funding opportunity. This program assists jurisdictions in reducing crime and improving the functioning of the justice system through more effective information sharing, multi-agency collaboration, and implementation of data-driven, evidence-based strategies. Apply by: February 7, 2017.


Crime Analysis Consortium Resources

The collection and analysis of crime data and information is challenging for law enforcement agencies. BJA recognizes the enormous benefit that crime analysis capability can bring to law enforcement agencies and funds several projects that offer guidance, training, and technical assistance to law enforcement regarding crime analysis. The growing need for an analytic solution can be found through the following BJA projects designed to directly support and assist the state, local, and tribal law enforcement agency.


Fusion Center Support Solicitation Released

BJA has released the FY 2013 National Network of Fusion Centers Capability and Capacity Enhancement solicitation. Applications are due July 1, 2013.
