Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation –
Renovation of Existing Correctional Facility

Grant Amount: $203,623

Location: The Chehalis people are a native people of western Washington enrolled in the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation (CTCR). The 7 square mile Chehalis Indian Reservation is situated approximately 26 miles southwest of Olympia and 6 miles northwest of Centralia in rural western Washington, and occupies lands in southeastern Grays Harbor and southwestern Thurston County. The reservation’s major communities are Chehalis Village and part of the city of Oakville. The project is located in Chehalis Village.

Scope: The project involves installing security upgrades to the existing Chehalis Public Safety Facility.  Renovations include upgrading the main corrections security panel for the entire facility, installing an electronic security system for the female inmate wing, and performing renovations to the tribal courtroom.

Status: The project is complete and all objectives were achieved. This grant is now closed.
